The irrigation project efficiency is the ratio between the amount of irrigation water actually needed by the crop (based on soil moisture deficits) and the amount of water that is withdrawn from rivers, lakes, reservoirs or other water sources. The irrigation conveyance efficiency is the ratio between the water that is actually supplied to the irrigated field and the amount of water withdrawn from the water source, it defines the amount of water that is lost during the transport of the water. Both parameters are given at country level. |
